Q My scans produce lines or show hints of fading or discoloration. How do I fix this problem?

A Scans that produce lines, fading, and discoloration generally result from a corrupt scanner driver installation or a burned out lamp. To determine if your problem is caused by a burned out lamp, simply open the scanner lid and check the color of the lamp. If the color is a shade of red, pink, or green, then the lamp is burned out. Perform a scanner preview to get a clear view of the lamp. If the lamp is a bright white, follow the set(s) of instruction(s) below to fix the problem. If the problem still exists, please contact technical support via phone or email for more help on your problem. When contacting technical support, mention the steps you already took in trying to fix the problem.

Q Why do my images look out-of-focused after I scan with the Lightlid 35? How can I achieve better output results?

A The LightLid 35 is for basic home use. The LightLid 35 will perform a transparency scan but it is not designed to do a high quality transparency scan. You could use the LightLid 35 for various home projects such as archiving, creating scrapbooks, or for on-screen viewing. If your projects require high quality transparency images, you may want to consider a dedicated slide scanner. Microtek offers several professional slide scanners that can be used to scan transparencies in high quality. Click here for tips in getting the maximum performance out of your LightLid 35 transparency adapter.
