Tips for using the LightLid 35

Try first scanning with the brightness set to 100% when using the LightLid 35.

Make sure you are scanning using the negative film option and not the positive transparency setting.

Make sure the film strip is laying flat on the scanner to avoid "light leakage" and poor scan results.

Gamma adjustment can sometimes improve scan results.

Images can be improved by moving the LightLid 35 towards the front of the scanner bed and covering the remainder of the glass with something dark or heavy.

Some negative film strips may scan great, not only previews but final scans. You may find that others don't. This possibly may be due to film quality.

When scanning a slide, if you notice a lot of white spots on the image, try cleaning the slide with some compressed air prior to placing it in the LightLid 35 as it could be dust on the slide itself.

When working with negatives, keep in mind they are not "pre-processed" as a printed image would be. You may need to adjust the brightness/contrast or color balance levels.
